Cherry Creek, APS classes canceled for Tuesday, 2/1

Schools in the Cherry Creek School and Aurora Public Schools districts will be closed on Tuesday due to adverse weather conditions.

With snow storms and below zero temperatures predicted for Tuesday, Feb. 1, Cherry Creek and APS district officials said weather conditions would be too dangerous for students to travel to school. At Cherry Creek, Superintendent Mary Chesley made the decision after receiving updates from the district’s assistant superintendent in charge of facility support and other sources.
“The weather conditions are going to be so dangerously cold in the morning we don’t feel it’s safe for children to be out in that,” said district spokeswoman Tustin Amole.
All schools in the Aurora Public Schools district will be closed Tuesday, in addition to Pickens Technical College. What’s more, the APS board of education meeting scheduled for Feb. 1 has been rescheduled to Feb. 8.
